Private Canoe & Kayak Tours from Phuket – Hong Island Trip

This 10-hour Hong Island trip is suitable for all visitors to Phuket and is extremely well-rated on Tripadvisor, always a great yardstick to measure any service by. Your destination will be the incomparably beautiful Phang Nga Bay in the Gulf of Phuket, where you will experience an afternoon exploring fascinating natural formations, including some sea caves and hidden bays that were found by John Gray himself in 1989.

Structure of the day

Included in this incredible Hong Island private tour experience is a pick-up/drop-off service from anywhere on Phuket Island by luxury minivan. We push off into the sparkling blue waters at lunchtime to avoid the early crowds and guarantee a more tranquil experience. A light lunch is served on our bespoke support boat and like all of the food and drinks we serve, you can expect a typically delicious offering, sourced sustainably and responsibly.

After lunch, you will receive a full briefing about the handling and safety of your Hong Island kayak. These boats were custom-designed for this exact purpose by the World’s leading raft manufacturer and we are proud to have never had any punctured vessels, accidents, or so much as someone capsizing. Your professional guide will now paddle you into the heart of Phang Nga Bay’s limestone wonders and the Tidal Nape sea caves and Hongs. (Thai for ‘room’)

Hong Island kayak trip

A spiritual ending

As a lovely way to finish your wonderful Hong Island kayak trip, after dark you can float your own self-made flower ‘Krathong’, creating a stunning natural light show. Many guests tell us that our evening Krathong ceremony, complete with dinoflagellates (bioluminescent plankton) is an unforgettable, spiritual experience. (Traditional Loi Krathong festival according to the Thai calendar occurs in November every year)

As we head back to the shore two hours after sunset, you can dive into a superb buffet with some of the freshest, net-caught seafood you will ever eat. There is also a great range of delicious sides and salads for our vegetarian/vegan travellers. We go above and beyond to ensure our guests are happy and being well-fed goes a long way towards that. One previous guest even described the food on board as the “Best Thai food we’ve ever had – and on a boat!”
